Greetings,
My name is James Robinson
I am the founder of Global Counseling Solutions, PLLC.
My areas of focus are individual counseling, couples counseling and life coaching.
My strengths are grounded in the belief that through self-determination and the right support, people can achieve personal healing, obtain their desired quality of life and create meaningful relationships.
My aim is to empower people to achieve greater. My areas of specialty include Anxiety, Depression, Relationships and Trauma. My treatment approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I primarily serve adults ages 21 to 65. I consider it a privilege to serve others. Inviting me into your life and sharing your unique pain is something I do not take lightly. Whether it’s with me or another therapist, I wish you all the best in your healing and journey towards growth.
I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and couples. Compassion, warmth, and objectivity are just some of the values I offer to clients I serve. My clients are accepted for who they are while receiving encouragement to become self-aware, grow and thrive within their communities. My goal is to create a safe space for reviving the soul, mind, will, and emotions. I strive to assist clients in rebuilding weakened relationships while also assisting them in their own personal restoration. I also have a passion for working with clients who identify themselves as members of LGBTQ+.
System Counseling, as well as Cognitive-Behavioral and Cognitive Restructuring approaches, are blended with Motivational Interviewing techniques to form the basic theoretical foundation of my work with clients. I offer Individual, Couples, and Marriage Counseling, Christian Counseling, Life and Executive Coaching, Consultation, and Clinical supervision.
I believe in your ability to find the answers to your life’s dilemmas. I see myself as a facilitator within the therapeutic relationship, providing objective guidance and support, as well as, challenging unhealthy thought processes while creating a warm, accepting, and soothing environment in which to work. Let’s redesign the life you were created to live.
Sometimes things happen that affect the way we see the world, the way we treat people, and the way we think about ourselves. This can happen to anyone. Sometimes, when life knocks you down, it can be tough getting back up. I help people get up.
I currently specialize in relationship counseling not limited to intimate partner relationships, but also everyday interactions i.e., working, organizational, non-traditional, casual, mutually beneficial, and structural. I commonly assist with communication which is a major underlying issue found within relationship dysfunction.
My preferred methodologies for treatment are Gestalt therapy, Autogenic Training, CBT, Existential Therapy, and grief counseling.
My strengths lie in understanding, compassion, mutual respect, and experience. I am able to channel levels of comprehension in the following areas: Abandonment, depression, low self-esteem, jealousy, forgiveness, lack of trust, relationship strain, and everyday challenges.
Other areas of proficiency include coping with life changes, communication problems, divorce and separation, emptiness, and intimacy-related issues.
I have over ten years of experience in providing therapy services. I pride myself on providing a safe and non-judgmental space to assist my clients in achieving their goals. Building therapeutic rapport and maintaining engagement are important to me. It helps me understand who you are and ensures that you feel seen as a unique individual. Your perspectives on life are determined by your life experiences. Understanding your unique experiences are important to me. My goal is to partner with you to help you achieve the meaningful and sustainable changes you desire. I primarily use evidenced-based treatment modalities including Cognitive-Based therapy and Solution-focused therapy. I specialize in helping adults and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, grief, minority stress, LGBTQ issues, internal struggles, and mood disorders to include major depression and bipolar disorders.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of combined experience in mental health and career development services. I have served as a member of the North Carolina Society for Clinical Social Work since 2017.
My direct practice experience began as an employment counselor providing support and counseling to individuals experiencing transitions in employment. Over the last four years, I’ve practiced as a licensed mental health therapist providing office based and in-home outpatient therapy to individuals and families in rural counties of North Carolina. Building rapport and understanding the needs of my clients are attributes tied closely to my professional values. I will partner with you to assist you in meeting your personal and professional goals. I will be your advocate.
My ideal clients are adults ages 18 to 45. I provide both individual and couples counseling. My primary treatment modalities are Cognitive Behavioral and Solution-Focused Therapy. If you’d like to meet to determine if we are a good fit, request a virtual appointment to receive a 15-minute complimentary consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
I have spent over 20 years working with individuals, families, and children to help them achieve emotional well-being. Life can present difficult challenges, whether related to trauma, family dynamics, adoption, foster care, or attachment disruptions, and I’m here to provide a compassionate, personalized approach to care.
I specialize in treating children ages 2-18 and adults 18-65, addressing social-emotional issues, trauma, and disorders like autism. I approach my work from a relationship, individual, and developmental perspective. My therapeutic methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Approaches, Play Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). Additionally, I offer couples and relationship counseling, helping people strengthen communication and resolve conflict.
I believe in joining with clients on their journey toward healing, using my experience and leadership to create a safe, supportive space for growth. Whether you’re navigating life transitions, family challenges, or relationship issues, I’m here to help you achieve emotional well-being.
It is essential to my counseling style to honor your interests and strengths and struggles with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling… and a sense of humor doesn’t hurt.
I have over 25 years of experience addressing relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and ADHD. I’ve also helped many people who have experienced childhood adversity, substance abuse, domestic violence, physical trauma and emotional abuse.
In the past few years I’ve added Certified Neuro-Somatic Intelligence Coach, a discipline of nervous system care, to my skillset of Trauma Resilience Education. It has been a remarkable game-changer for many of my clients. My clients are pleased to acquire practices, on the first visit, to begin addressing the physical and emotional effects of trauma, anxiety and depression. Among other benefits, these tools make more energy available to focus on the thoughts and issues that may be associated with distress. I applaud your effort to seek support towards a more fulfilling and happier life. You will leave our sessions with gentle, restorative tools to practice throughout your day… and we will continue building. I look forward to working with you!
